Available positions

Korean Language Consultant

Native-level Korean speaker with some Linguistics training required for short-term consultation on language technology used to generate accurately lip-synced facial animation for Korean speech.

You will work with a team of linguists to assess the accuracy of language-specific tools. This will include:

  • evaluation of phonetic labels in Korean transcriptions
  • editing Korean phonetic segmentation against spectrograms
  • analysis of our tools’ capacity to handle common dialectal variation
  • critique of lip sync animation with Korean speech audio

Qualifications

  • Native proficiency in Korean
  • Some phonetics training including the International Phonetic Alphabet and use of spectrograms
  • Some knowledge of Korean phonology

Lead Software Engineer

Speech Graphics seeks a Lead Software Engineer with 3-5 years experience to assume a lead role on projects in the area of real-time 3D animation and report to the CTO. The work you do will have a visible impact in communication and entertainment industries.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Computer Science, electrical engineering or related field
  • High degree of proficiency in C++
  • Strong Object-Oriented Programming background
  • Experience with version control systems (any of Git, Hg, P4)
  • Experience working in real-time engines like Unreal or Unity
  • Strong group-based problem solving skills and spirit of teamwork
  • Ability to work within a schedule and deliver effectively to deadlines
  • Leadership qualities including strong communication skills, empathy, mentorship, humour, humility

Junior Software Engineer

As Junior Software Engineer you will be responsible for developing applications and tools under the guidance of a senior engineer, in a variety of areas, including DevOps, porting, real-time animation and web-based interfaces. You will support our existing technology as well as developing new features. The work you do will have a visible impact in communication and entertainment industries.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Computer Science, electrical engineering or related field
  • Proficiency in C++ and Python
  • Experience with version control systems (any of Git, Hg, P4)
  • Good problem solving and debugging skills
  • Strong communication skills

Research Engineer

We are looking for a Research Engineer to join our growing Machine Learning team. You will be expected to research novel solutions to improve and develop Speech Graphics technology as well as implement and maintain those solutions for production. The work you do will have a visible impact in communication and entertainment industries.

Qualifications

  • MSc or PhD in a relevant field
  • Machine learning background
  • Experience with neural networks and deep learning
  • Excellent programming skills
  • Ability to work independently

Other preferred skills and experience

  • Experience with a deep learning toolbox, especially Torch and PyTorch
  • Experience working in a speech technology area such as speech recognition
  • Experience with speech software libraries such as Kaldi
  • Previous professional employment in the field
