Senior Cloud Engineer

Location: Edinburgh, Scotland

Speech Graphics is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer with 5+ years experience to support the development and deployment of our network platform applications to AWS Public Cloud. The work you do will have a visible impact in communication and entertainment industries. The position reports to the Network Platform Manager.

Essential Qualifications/Requirements
  • A degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of strong cloud implementation or consulting experience
  • Skills to architect and implement efficient and reusable services on the Amazon Web Services stack using Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, SNS and DynamoDB, provisioned using CloudFormation.
  • Strong development experience in Node.js, Javascript and/or other programming languages such as Python
  • Ability to design for resilience and operability, identify and resolve scalability and performance issues
  • Solid understanding of security best practices in the cloud
  • Strong group-based problem solving skills and spirit of teamwork (code reviews, sharing knowledge with other engineers)
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
  • Ability to work within a schedule and deliver effectively to deadlines

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree computer science or related discipline (desirable)
  • 3+ years of software development.
Technical skills and experience

You MUST have experience with:

  • Strong development experience in Node.js, JavaScript and/or other programming languages such as Python.
  • Working experience with Serverless technologies (Lambda, DynamoDB, API GW, SQS, SNS) and Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation)
  • Familiar with CI/CD Pipelines (Jenkins)
  • Ability to design for resilience and operability
  • Solid understanding of security best practices in the cloud
  • Unit testing experience

QA Engineer

Location: Edinburgh, United Kingdom

Speech Graphics is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Engineer with 3+ years of experience to participate in development of manual and automated test solutions for web services and mobile device applications. Ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of performance and reliability issues and has a creative ability to solve problems. This position reports to the VP of Product.

Responsibility
  • Leads the QA effort from development to release.
  • Design software V&V (Validation and Verification) procedures to cover units, components, function and integration levels testing.
  • Works with engineers to create automatic pipelines for QA.
Technical skills and experience

You MUST have experience with:

  • Analysing products/services and writing full-coverage software test plans.
  • Collaborating with development teams, product managers, and operations to create high quality test solutions in order to ensure complete test coverage.
  • Writing test scripts, manual and automated test cases. Creating test strategy documents. Investigating, analysing, conducting limited debugging, and filing bug reports during the qualification testing stage of the software development life cycle.
  • Web API testing experience (Postman or similar).
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.
  • Ability to work within a schedule and deliver effectively to deadlines.

Good to have skills and/or experience with:

  • Mobile testing experience (Android, and/or iPhone/iPad).
  • Experience in mobile testing tools such as Xcode, ADT/ADB is considered a plus.
  • Scripting (python) or coding (C/C++) experience targeting automated test cases.
  • Proficient understanding of web APIs, Javascript code and mobile device application testing.

Speech Data Engineer

Speech Graphics is seeking a Speech Data Engineer to join our growing Data and Linguistics team. You will be responsible for the continued development of our extensive multilingual speech database as well as designing and executing various speech data projects. You will be an integral part of the core technology group, collaborating with other data engineers and linguists; machine learning researchers; software engineers; technical artists; producers and more. Speech Graphics’ software converts audio into facial animation for a wide range of applications from video games to cloud AI systems. Your work will directly enhance the quality and features of our technology, and impact products currently used by millions of people. The position reports to the Lead Data Engineer.

Duties/responsibilities
  • Work closely with the broader speech science team to gain insights into our current data and identify future data requirements 
  • Use existing tools and methods as well as developing new approaches towards:
    • quick and effective speech data and metadata collection
    • annotation specific to the goal of accurate and emotive facial animation
    • management; processing and analysis of speech data and its corresponding metadata 
  • Research novel solutions to improve and develop Speech Graphics technology 
  • Present projects and scientific findings to the broader speech science team and CTO in weekly meetings 
  • Promote data best practices and scientific integrity at all times
Essential skills/qualifications:
  • MSc in a relevant field and/or previous professional employment in the field 
  • At least one year of experience programming in a scripting language 
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently
  • Eagerness to learn new skills and technologies

Product Marketing Manager

Location: San Francisco, CA / San Mateo

We have created a successful business around our cutting-edge animation technology in the game industry and are now developing a platform product that will enable any developer to access our tech via an API to deliver talking avatars on any website.

As Product Marketing Manager, your responsibility will be to work closely with executives, product, sales and development team to develop aspects of marketing, “go to market” and growth initiatives to broaden our market position.. You will play a key role in making decisions that inform our product roadmap, bring awareness, acquisition, activation, retention and referrals of our customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Research and develop market positioning, programs and messaging strategy across channels to drive market awareness, customer acquisition and long term relationships.
  • Define and implement a GTM strategy to attract new developers and drive developer adoption;
  • Identify value proposition and key messages which resonates with our developers.
  • Collaborating with product and engineering team to define product deliverables and solutions.
  • Creating and delivering sales enablement and materials that will lead to pipeline developmentand closed business.
Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or a related field. (MBA is a plus)
  • 3 to 5 years in a product marketing or go-to-marketing experience, product management, or
    developer evangelist role;
  • Have product empathy in understanding the journeys of our target customers;
  • Deep understanding of the SaaS customer journey and personas (especially at mid-sized and
    larger companies)
  • Enough technical understanding to communicate authentically with developers about topics
    such as APIs, serverless computing, SaaS, and web applications
  • The ability to think strategically and develop comprehensive, test and refine, data-driven
    hypothesis.
  • Strategic approach to developing content and developer journeys, with experience executing
    on full funnel multichannel campaigns
  • Experience working with product and engineering throughout a product’s lifecycle;
  • Experience in B2B marketing and working closely with sales teams is preferred;
  • Ability to work autonomously in a startup-like environment to align stakeholders, understand persona/mindset (executives and product) and execute with business partners on the key priorities.
