A new hunt begins
Monster Hunter Wilds is the highly acclaimed latest entry in Capcom’s award-winning Monster Hunter series. This co-op action RPG takes the thrill of the hunt to new heights with a new adventure set in an unrelenting frontier, where players track down massive monsters and battle the elements in a seamless, ever-changing world. As you survive and craft ever more powerful equipment, your quest leads you to unravel the mystery of these new lands.
Monster Hunter Wilds reimagines Capcom’s iconic hunting series with a bold, immersive open world set in the unpredictable Forbidden Lands-a living ecosystem where weather shifts, monsters clash, and landscapes evolve in real time. As a newly minted hunter in a frontier expedition, players uncover a mysterious disappearance while battling colossal beasts using deeply customizable weapons, new precision-based combat mechanics, and dynamic mounts. With cross-platform co-op, rich biomes that react to narrative progression, and a focus on accessibility without sacrificing depth, Wilds aims to be both a love letter to series veterans and a welcoming entry point for newcomers.
SGX was used to animate a host of characters in the Monster Hunter universe
High quality localization at scale
Utilizing our award winning production system, SGX, the Monster Hunter Wilds team were able to generate accurate lip sync and emotional expressions from audio alone for characters in the Monster Hunter universe in multiple languages (Japanese, English and Mandarin) - providing a truly immersive and localized experience for players.
Of SGX’s multi-lingual functionality, the Monster Hunter Wilds team said:
“In the past, when supporting multiple languages, we sometimes had to take reference pictures and videos of voice actors’ faces during recording sessions and then perform video analysis to create various required animations. However, using the SGX software allowed us to be able to generate animations significantly faster than our previous video analysis process, which was tremendously helpful.”
“One of the major achievements was being able to make multilingual support a reality for this title, which would have otherwise been extremely difficult to accomplish within schedule constraints for such a large-scale title.”
Adaptable and flexible
SGX’s flexibility and adaptability was also leveraged by the Monster Hunter Wilds team, particularly in relation to their facial animation pipeline. They commented:
“The Maya software plugin provides plenty of pre-defined commands, enabling batch processing even when large amounts of data come from a single recording session. Additionally, since it's provided as commands, we appreciated the ability to incorporate other necessary processing steps and customizations as needed.”
A monster success
As of December 31, 2025, Monster Hunter Wilds has surpassed 11 million units sold worldwide, driven by the franchise's first-ever simultaneous global launch and full cross-play support. This incredible milestone highlights the powerful blend of beloved series elements and exciting new features that have captivated players around the world.
Dan Geoffrey, Commercial Director at Speech Graphics said of the project:
“The opportunity to collaborate with the Monster Hunter Wilds team on the latest installment of this much loved series was a true honour for the entire Speech Graphics team. The project perfectly showcases how our cutting-edge technology can enhance storytelling and provide a truly localised and immersive experience for hunters from around the world.”
